Opening a brand new CA State Park in the middle of downtown is no easy feat. Since the acquisition of LASHP in 2001, CA State Parks and the surrounding communities have been hard at work (65 public meetings, establishing park advocacy groups…) to make the grand opening a reality for Los Angeles. As we continue to be a park for the community, we’ve established new connections with locals and strengthened our relationship with voices of our people.
Our Promotoras, a community-based park ambassadors group, are just as excited to open this park! Today, Promotoras bagged and labeled seed packets for LA to “grow with us!” Meet our park leaders at the grand opening!
